Hi friends,
Can you believe that the 4th of July is next week?! Summer is just zooming right by! There is nothing better than enjoying a cool ice cream treat on a hot summer day. If you’re like me, you’ve seen all of the no churn ice cream recipes floating around Pinterest and wondered to yourself “Can you really make your own ice cream without an ice cream maker?” And the answer is, yes!
I had always wanted to take a crack at making a no churn ice cream and I figured what better dessert to add to a 4th of July picnic! It’s great because you can make it the night before, let it sit in the freezer overnight, and then scoop it out! And let me tell ya, this no churn ice cream is super easy to scoop. Perfect for cones, bowls, or these cute waffle cone cups I found at Dollar Tree!
Supply List
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
- 1-1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp. strawberry extract
- 1/4 cup frozen sliced strawberries
- red & blue food coloring
- sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
1. Pour your heavy whipping cream into your mixing bowl and mix on high until stiff peaks form.
2. Gently fold in the sweetened condensed milk to the whipped cream.
4. Add your red food coloring to one of the small bowls and add the blue into the other.
5. Mix in your strawberry extract to the red ice cream and 1/2 tsp of your vanilla into the blue ice cream. Add the remaining vanilla extract to your white ice cream mixture.
6. Mix in your 1/4 cup frozen strawberries to your red ice cream.
7. Find a Tupperware container or a freezer safe loaf pan and start dolloping your colors in one layer at a time.
8. After every layer you will want to take a knife or a chopstick (anything pointy, really) and drag it through the mixture 4 – 5 times to create your swirls.
9. After you’ve swirled a couple layers, add a small layer of sprinkles. This will just make your ice cream that much more fun!
10. Finish off with a couple more layers of swirls and a final layer of sprinkles and pop in the freezer overnight!
11. Scoop out and enjoy!
