Happy (almost) Thanksgiving, friends! While I’m not having guests over on that day, there’s no reason my décor can’t be festive and welcoming like it would be if I was. If you’re like me, you have wonderful plans and ideas for decorating, but life gets in the way and you find yourself running out of time. Yes? Well, have no fear because these 4 quick and easy crafts that you can put on your mantel (or wherever!) are here!
- Take an empty frame (I got mine at a yard sale) and paint the glass with black acrylic paint. Let dry.
- Use a small detail paint brush to write out “give” with white acrylic paint. Let dry. TIP: Check out some cool ways to pair different fonts and get inspiration here.
- Take your pumpkin and paint it white. Let dry. Paint another coat if necessary. Let dry.
- Use a small detail paint brush to write out “thanks” with black acrylic paint. Let dry.
- Paint the pumpkin stem black (optional). Let dry.
- Position them how you want!
- Take an old vase (yard sale find), glue or mod podge an inch of twine to the bottom. Let dry.
- Flip vase over and begin wrapping vase with twine.
- About 1/3 of the way up, put on a thin layer of mod podge over the twine. Let dry.
- Repeat step 3.
- Add your vase filler (I used my arrows from Indonesia) and position!
- Take the candle stick holders and paint white (forgot to snap a picture of this!). TIP: If you want a taller candle like I mine, just glue two together!
- Set your mason jar on two sheets of white tissue paper.
- Brush a thin layer of mod podge onto the jar and pull the layers of tissue paper up and around the jar. Brush another coat of mod podge on top of the tissue paper. Let dry.
- Take a piece of twine and tie it around the jars neck. Tie tight.
- Just like with the vase, begin wrapping up the top of the jar. Seal with a layer of mod podge and let dry.
- Once completely dry, cut excess tissue paper off.
- Take mason jars and glue to candle stick holders.
- Add a tea light (optional) and position!
- Grab some books of varying sizes and check that they made a pyramidy shape. Yep, pyramidy.
- Take your kraft paper and (just like in school , lol) make some book covers.
- You can stop at step 2 or if you want a bit more height like I did, add something funky like a candle or a figurine to the top!
- Position and you’re all set!
I wasn’t kidding, right? Suuuuuuper easy, peasy, lemon squeasy. Let me know which one was your favorite and if you tried any of them in the comments below! I was super excited to get this together for you guys. As part of my goal to be a more consistent blogger, I’m linking up with the Dare to DIY party. This is the first week and the linkup is hosted over at Shift Ctrl Art! If you want more Thanksgiving inspiration, check out these crazy talented ladies!

Thanks so much, Kim! That’s my favorite too. :) Loved your thumbprint tree tray! I’m definitely taking note of that for when I have a family of my own.

Love these ideas! I tried to do some painted pumpkins for Halloween, but they didn’t come out nearly as cute as yours. All of your projects look great!
