Hi friends,
Truth be told, this post has been one that I’ve tried to write for a couple of months but couldn’t bring myself to finish. Two months ago, on January 12th at 8:30 in the morning, I sold my first home.
Selling my home was not an easy decision to make. When I was offered the job as full time art teacher at my old high school in my hometown of Erie I knew I absolutely wanted to take it but I wasn’t sure what I should do about my house.
This was my first home, the reason I had even started a blog. Could I really just say goodbye to it and all of the work I had put in?
I really thought for the longest time that I would rent it out since I had a couple friends interested. Well that didn’t work but some different friends mentioned wanting to rent it. And then that didn’t work. Things kept happening that made it seem that I wasn’t supposed to own my house anymore. Which was heartbreaking.
Late last summer I made the choice to put my house up for sale with the same realtor who helped me buy it in the first place. She’s awesome, I love her to death, and if you’re looking for a realtor in Pittsburgh you should totally hit her up.
It took quite a few months, even though it had, like, a billion showings, but an offer finally came in. Not only was it a good offer, but I truly felt at peace about accepting it. I met the buyer and I knew that he would love this little house and the work I had put in as much as I had.
Before I officially say goodbye, I wanted to point out some of the renovations I did that made the house unique and different. Make sure you check all the tutorials out!
