First things first, MOM DON’T READ THIS BECAUSE YOU’LL RUIN THE SURPRISE AND THAT’S NOT COOL. OK, THANKS. LOVE YOU! Now onto the post…
Hi friends,
In case you haven’t looked at a calendar recently (or thought it was a week later like I did), Mother’s Day is right around the corner. Moms are pretty special people and they deserve wayyy more than just a day of celebration.
My mom is literally my best friend so it’s pretty easy to think of a gift idea for her each year, but sometimes I like to change it up. Some years I’ll DIY a gift, some years I take her out to dinner and a movie / show, and other years I like to shop for a gift.
This year was one of the years that I decided to go shopping. But instead of asking her if there was anything she’s had her eye on (like I normally do), I decided to venture out on my own. Risky idea? Nope, because I knew UncommonGoods would have fun, unique, and awesome Mother’s Day gift ideas! Here are some of my favorites that I stumbled upon, and you can find more ideas here.

What I really love about UncommonGoods is their stance on sustainability as a company. They work extremely hard at minimizing their environmental impact and staying “green” through all of their business decisions (something that, as an interior designer, I’m a big advocate of). They also work with each of their artists to provide products that use sustainable or recycled materials whenever possible.
Not only are a ton of the products “green”, they’re also super creative. UncommonGoods makes sure that the artists creations are designs that serve a purpose, solve a problem, stun with their beauty, or makes them wonder why no one thought of it before. Awesome, right?!
Now, you may be wondering why I yelled through caps at my mom at the beginning of this post. “Does she normally yell at people at the beginning of posts?” No, silly goose. UncommonGoods was kind enough to send me a few items from their Mother’s Day curated collection here for me to give to my mom! So, see? That’s why! I’m sharing with you guys what I’m giving my mom for Mother’s Day in my top 4 choices and why I chose them. It would just ruin the surprise if she read about it now. ;)
- Mother Daughter Letter Book: This gift doesn’t really have a back story reason like the others will, but when I saw it I just thought it was a really cool and unique idea. Plus, it’s something that we can do together for years to come.
- Fruit Infusing Ice Cubes: My mother has an obsession with lemon in her water. Like, we’ve gone out to dinner before, and she’s asked for a small bowl of extra lemon on the side. But whenever she’s at home, she never puts lemon in her water. I know, weird, right? So I decided to get her these fruit infusing ice cubes for home and work! Now she can have all the lemon her little heart desires.
- Ampersand Cheese and Crackers Tray: No matter what family function we’re going to, or even if we’re bringing other stuff too, we almost always are in charge of bringing a cheese and cracker tray. So when I saw this tray and how freaking adorable it was, I knew I had to get it. Plus now I can borrow it. ;)
- Best Ever Desk Sign: I’ve mentioned before that my mom was a teacher for years before she became a principal. And she was a pretty great teacher, one of the best, seriously ask anyone. But she makes a pretty great principal too. But she’s not just a teacher or a principal, she’s also my mom and is the absolute best! So I knew I had to grab this sign for her to display on her desk at school. And BONUS! They also have Best Dad Ever signs for Father’s Day. Boom. Bonus Father’s Day gift idea. You’re welcome. ;)
Now, you may have already gotten your mom her gift for Mother’s Day. That’s fine! UncommonGoods has gift ideas for literally every occasion. And one of the other things I love about them is how a ton of their products can be personalized, and you can find them here. Need a wedding gift for the bride who has everything? They got you covered. Need a birthday gift for a friend who’s hard to buy for? They got you covered. Seriously, they’re pretty awesome.
So, now you know what I’m going to be giving my mom for Mother’s Day. What will you be giving yours? Let me know down below!
