Hi, friends!
Today’s post has loooooong been awaited. Ever since I moved in in July I’ve been dying to finish my living room. I’ve done small things throughout my house since then but decided to really focus on my living room mid-February.
While there’s still a couple things that need to be done (I’m getting my hardwood next Saturday!) I’m so, so happy with the progress I’ve made.
Speaking of progress, let’s see how it looked like when I moved in.
Boy, has this space come a long way. I showed pictures to my Nana this past weekend, and she said it was completely unrecognizable and didn’t look like the same room. And I gotta say, she’s absolutely right.
So without further ado…come on in!
Ignore the fact that the exterior side of my front door is different from the interior. When I work on my front porch it’s getting an entire makeover. :)
So my friends (who are also interior designers) convinced me to buy this chair while we were out shopping. My friends are very wise. I had just painted my honeycomb accent wall and the fact that it had all of the colors in my color scheme, was the only one in the store, PLUS it was chevron (my fave!), it was fate.
My built ins are my favorite part of the living room. I’m able to display some of my most favorite things, especially my books, geodes, and things from around the world. A tea set from China, a doll from Peru, an instrument from Africa, and spears, dolls, and a gong from Indonesia.
I love, love, LOVE my gallery wall. The piece that I love the most though is my Dismantle.Repair. lithograph from Anberlin. First off, if you don’t know who Anberlin is you should go check them out. #favoritebandever Second, this song is so deep and powerful and got me out of a really dark place. I love being able to look at the lyrics everyday and be reminded of how far I’ve come.
Normally that bowl does not have candy in it, but when you had 2 Easter baskets like I did you don’t really have a choice. Note that that’s only half, the rest I took to work. ;) P.S. Have you read Grace’s Guide? If not, you totally should. Grace Helbig is a comedic genius.
My door is purple now! Well, on the inside anyways. Thanks Kendall for your great suggestion!
I’m so excited that this space is done and now I can just relax and enjoy it. The long nights of working on it really paid off. Want tutorials on everything I DIYed? Check them out here!
Thanks so much for coming on my living room tour!
I’m linking up to these great parties!
