Hi friends,
First off, let me just thank you all for all your kind words on my living room tour. There were a lot of long nights and it was a lot of hard work, but I’m so, so happy with the outcome!
But now that my living room is complete, it’s time for me to move onto the next room on my to do list. The kitchen!
Let’s start with some kitchen inspiration…
I love the idea of white cabinets, but I’m also drawn to having the lowers painted a dark color, like the photo above. I’m still not 100% sure.
I also plan to refinish my countertops. I’m thinking something a little more industrial like concrete.
Finally I want to remove my existing upper cabinets and replace them with floating shelves to display pretty, pretty things. :)
So here’s what I’m planning. I’ll paint the walls a light neutral gray with an accent wall of light teal. I’m going to remove my existing backsplash and replace it with subway tile. I’m not sure if I want to tile all the way up to the ceiling or just to the first floating shelf. I’m going to replace the cabinet hardware with new pulls and knobs. I love the clay knobs that Amy over at Delineate Your Dwelling created. And then finally, I want to work on what you can’t see: what’s behind the cabinets! One of my biggest goals is to get extremely organized.
It’s a smaller space than my living room but I know it will be just as much work. Stay tuned for fun DIYs and updates!
I’m linking up to these great parties!

I always love kitchen inspiration! I am in the process of designing my kitchen remodel (my current kitchen is a complete mess, the counters don’t even match!) Thank you for sharing, I jumped over from the Homemaking Linkup. How did you do the mock up of your new layout? Thanks for sharing!
