Hi friends,
Halloween is this weekend! Woo hoo! Unfortunately, I’ll be at work. Womp, womp. But that doesn’t mean I still can’t dress up in a fun costume! Because the new Star Wars movie is going to be released in 52 days (but who’s counting?) I decided to go as one of my all time favorite characters. With the help from Maybelline, I created a Han Solo costume and makeup look that’s appropriate and professional for work!
First things first, I headed to my local Walmart to pick up the Maybelline products that I would use to create my character’s looks. When I dress up for Halloween, I like to go all out with my makeup, and typically it involves false lashes. But I’m going to be honest, I hate false lashes. They’re a pain to apply, I can rarely get them right on the first try, and they make my eyes feel weird while they’re on. It’s not the most pleasant experience, but I do it to get full, voluminous lash look I desire and because there’s no other option, right? Wrong! While I was at Walmart, I stumbled upon Maybelline’s The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara, and it promised to give me the lash look I wanted without the time and hassle of applying false lashes!
This mascara is the world’s first ever patented push up brush with cup-shaped bristles that scoop, coat, and lift lashes into a dramatic 45 degrees. With it’s creamy plumping and volumizing formula, the mascara glides smoothly onto lashes for a dramatic, instant charge. After learning all of that, I knew I had to use it to create my Halloween look.
While I was at Walmart, I also stumbled upon their many brow products. In my everyday makeup routine, filled and defined brows are an absolute must, and my Halloween look would be no exception. I picked up the Maybelline EyeStudio Brow Define & Fill Duo as well as the rest of the products I would need to complete my look.
For the face, I first applied the Dream Wonder foundation all over with a damp makeup sponge. I then used the Instant Age Rewind concealer for any blemishes and redness and blended with a damp makeup sponge. To make my under eye circles brighter, I applied the Instant Age Rewind Illuminator in a triangle shape and blended with a damp makeup sponge. I contoured with FaceStudio Master HiLight to define my cheek bones.
For the eyes, I used the EyeStudio Color Tattoo in Barely Branded as a base / primer for my lids. For the shadow, I used The Nudes eyeshadow palette and applied the 3rd from the top left all over my lid. To add definition, I applied the 2nd shade from the left to my crease and blended with a fluffy brush. I then lined my eyes with EyeStudio Master Drama Gel eyeliner in black. Because this is still a Halloween costume, I want bold lashes. I used the Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara in black to create full, voluminous lashes. Finally, for my brows, I used the EyeStudio Brow Define & Fill Duo by defining them with the pencil side, and filling them in with the powder.
For my lips I decided to keep it neutral, but a tad darker than my normal lips. Before putting on lipstick though, I highly recommend applying lip liner in either the shade of your lipstick or close to the shade of your natural lips. I decided to go with a natural color, Toast, so that I could use it for various looks. After my lips were lined, I applied Color Sensational Lipcolor in the shade Totally Toffee.
For the outfit I wore a white button up shirt, brown vest, navy blue pants, and black boots. For my hair, I brushed it all to the left side and began twisting from the right to create a “crown”. I pulled out a couple pieces to frame my face and pinned it into place. And of course, no Han would be complete without a Leia.
Ok, so I may not be able to take Ninja with me to work to complete the outfit, but you get the idea!
What are your Halloween plans? What will you be going as? Be sure to use Maybelline to create your Halloween makeup looks!

AWESOME (and easy enough to do too).
This is so much fun and would go well with the yoda costume I had my youngest wear a few years ago.
